Strategic Plan

At a board retreat / strategic planning session scheduled for March 10, 2007 in southern Nevada, the board will complete vision and values statements, and develop a 5-year strategic plan, which will complete our strategic planning process begun in 2005. It is expected that one of the goals will be a needs assessment for EE in the state, which will allow us to deepen the strategic plan in the upcoming year.

If you would like to provide input to the board for consideration, please fill out the Strategic Planning Questionnaire (Word) and email it to Dan Allison by March 3.

History

April 1, 2006: The board reviewed previous strategic planning documents, adopted a new mission statement, and developed ideas for vision and values statements. Partial minutes.

October 9, 2005: At our Annual Meeting on October 9, 2005, we reviewed the strategic plan to date, using the summary document to guide our discussion, and added some information to be used in revising the strategic plan. We decided to undertake a review and revision of our mission statement, as well as development of a vision statement. After these are adopted, we will return to the strategic plan to create detailed actions in alignment with the mission.

March 14, 2005: Another strategic planning meeting was held March 14, 2005 in southern Nevada, facilitated by Dan Allison and Anga Rebane, with eight participants. Added notes from this meeting are available.

January 22, 2005: We held a strategic planning day in northern Nevada on January 22, 2005, with thirteen participants facilitated by Steve Lewis of University of Nevada Cooperative Extension. A summary of the day and the three actions plans (communication, membership, funded position) developed is available, with better detail on the communications subgroup action items from notes by Genny Wilson. The Funded Position subgroup produced an Executive Director position description and associated potential funding ideas.

Past Strategic Planning

NNREC developed strategic planning information in 1997 and 2001. Unfortunately the strategic plans were never formalized and completed. The links below provide the information about each of these planning efforts.
