Don't forget to look at the general LIFE information page for details you'll want to know before registering and attending.

Registration

Schedule: Curriculum | Staff | Field Class & Presentation Descriptions

Registration

Online registration is no longer available, but on-site registration is, at $175 per person. Space is available. To register now, call Dan Allison at 775-997-4937, and fill out the registration form and bring it with you (don't mail it in - we won't get it in time). The early registration fee was $125 and the regular registration fee was $150.

Registration fees may be refunded under certain circumstances, as explained in the refund policy.

Participants are not required to be members of NNREC, however, only members may apply for mini-grants or receive follow-on support after the workshop. We strongly encourage all participants in all our professional development workshops to become members.

The registration fee represents only a portion of the actual cost of the institute, which is about $400 per person. The low fee is the result of funding by: Nevada Division of Forestry (NDF), Conservation Education Program; a North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE) EETAP 3 Building State Capacity for EE program grant of EPA funds; membership dues; and in-kind donations from Nevada Division of Environmental Protection, Clear Creek Watershed Council, River Wranglers, and others.

Credit 2007

For 2007, the university credit option will be offered through Utah State University Distance Education, at $60 for two credits. Participants desiring this option will fill out a registration form and submit a check payable to USU during the workshop. See the credit section of the general LIFE page for information about inservice credit.

Mini-Grant 2007

Mini-grants will be made available to people and teams who attend LIFE, for implementation of projects designed during the workshop. The amount for 2007 will be $900.

The deadline for application is August 17, awards will be made by August 31, expenditures on the project must be complete by January 31, and the final report is due by February 29.

Teams or individuals may submit an informal “letter of intent” on the last day of workshop, briefly describing their project idea, and will follow that up with a formal application when administrator approval is obtained.

See the mini-grant section of the general LIFE page for more information.
