Conservation Education Mini-Grant Program
Background for Funders
About Mini-Grants
The Nevada Natural Resource Education Council (NNREC) is offering a program of conservation education mini-grants to classroom teachers and environmental educators for projects which enhance the provision of environmental education curriculum and experiences for K-12 students. Mini-grants range up to $100 but are more often about $500 for schools and $250 for individuals. The total funding available will limit the number of grants awarded.
Environmental education is subject-integrated and standards-based experiences which develop in students an understanding of and care for the natural and human communities on which our lives depend. It includes but is not limited to environmental science.
The NNREC Mini-Grant program is funded primarily by a grant from the Nevada Division of Forestry, Conservation Education program. NNREC is an equal opportunity service provider.
Expansion
NNREC will be creating a greatly expanded and consolidated Conservation Education Mini-Grant Program for 2007-2008 by seeking funding from a variety of state and federal agencies, nonprofit organizations, businesses, and foundations. All funders will be acknowledged here, and in any reports on the program.
